fishing report week ending 10th June, 2007
Hello everyone how are you all ?
What cracking weather we are having at the moment - our banks have been full and I have had some great emails from anglers saying what a wonderful session they have had at Pendle View Fisheries, Here is the fishing report for last week.
Main Lake (Carp)
Our carp have been spawning over the last few weeks and this has affected fishing. Lots of anglers have reported seeing some whoppers basking on the top. One angler I was speaking to last week said he saw one fish on the top flip over and he said you should have seen the size of its fin. Early this morning the bailiffs reported seeing lots of carp coming to the surface. Not many big catches to report last week, but lots of carpers have emailed me to say how much they had enjoyed their fishing experience at Pendle. The following carp were reported as caught. 10lb mirror, 18lb ghostie, 10lb mirror, 17lb mirror, 16lb common, 10lb common and 13lb 7oz mirror. Over this very hot period we will be doing everything to keep all our waters aerated and as cool as possible.
Main Lake (Pleasure)
Some wonderful catches reported last week. Bags in excess of 45lb plus have been recorded. Ian Melling of Barnoldswick said he had a great day on Thursday when he fished the dam wall and caught a nice 33lb bag of fish. Danny Wild of Euxton also had a great day on Tuesday when he and his mate fished the far bank and caught two nice bags of silvers. One bag weighed 27lb and Danny's weighed 38lb. John Holding of Birmingham (who was on a camping holiday in the nearby camping site at Clitheroe) said he bagged up a nice 26lb bag of silvers on Friday. Ian Whalley caught a nice 30lb bag. Tom Cross had a nice 33lb bag and Alan Mitchell had a great 40lb bag of silvers using maggot and ground bait.
Doughnut Lake (Pleasure)
Some great fishing was experienced last week. Peg 106 reported a nice 44lb bag of corn. Peg 105 had a nice 41lb bag using corn and paste. Ian Worthington reported a nice 50lb bag from peg 199 using pellet and corn. Ground bait using maggot and aniseed hemp is working really very well at the moment. There was a match on the Doughnut Lake on Sunday and it was scorching. The winning peg was peg 1089 with a weight of 32lb.

Cats Whisker and Black Buzzer are working well. We are doing everything possible to keep our fish cool during these very hot days. We are now re stocking the fly lake twice a week and our anglers are really getting some great results. Here are the averages for the week.
