fishing report week ending 19th August, 2007

Hello everyone,
Quite a mixed bag this week weather wise. The rain has certainly improved fishing and lots of anglers came to fish with us this week. Here is the fishing report.


Main Lake (Carp)
Lots of good fish brought to the bank this week. Here is a list of those fish caught. 27lb common, 24lb common, 18lb 6oz common, 24lb mirror, 10lb grass, 17lb grass, 12lb common, 14lb mirror, 16lb common 15lb 3oz mirror, 12lb common, 22lb mirror, 13lb common, 13lb koi, 12lb ghostie, 3lb ghosie, 10lb ghostie, 11lb mirror, 10lb ghostie, 12lb common. Most successful tactics have been as assortment of different types of boilie. Pegs 24/25 29/30, 87/88 and 71/72 have been the most successful. A mix of different boilies have worked really well. The biggest fish of the week was caught by Peter Howard on Sunday morning 19/8/2007. Peter used a fusion boilie and fished peg 24/25. Peter caught a nice 35lb 12oz common. The fish was verified by our bailiffs and several eye witnesses on the bank. Well done Peter. I had a really nice email from Pat Ormesher from Scotland who fished with us during the week. Pat said he and his mate Tony had a brilliant few days with us and caught some superb carp. Pat went on to say what a great venue we have and how great are facilities are. Thanks Pat its always great to hear that our customers have enjoyed themselves. As I said last week I think we are due for a big fish to come out.......watch this space.

Main Lake (Pleasure)
Some really nice bags being reported this week ranging from 20lb to 56lb. Corn, caster and meat have worked really well. The area just in front of the office has fished well this week. Apparently maggot soaked in Star Delight (strawberry flavour) has worked a treat. Apparently it the stuff that is used when making mousse. I have heard it all now. Danny Roberts from Bolton sent me a nice email saying he had a great session with us on Wednesday. Danny fished with us for five hours and caught a nice 36lb bag of silvers using corn and maggot. Bream have shown really well this week.

Doughnut Lake (Pleasure)
The bag of the week goes to our resident guy called Ryan (most of you know Ryan). Ryan had a belting session on one of his rest days and caught a 95lb bag of silvers on pole. Ryan fished peg 100 and was using worm and caster. The most successful pegs this week have been pegs 100, 106 and 105. Bags have ranged between 18lb to 95lb this week. Average bags have been 25 - 30lbs. Worm, corn and pellet have all done well.

Fly Lake
Some great sport has been enjoyed this week. D Bramley from Accrington caught one 7lb rainbow and one 6lb rainbow. Vic Harvey from Blackburn caught 11 fish whilst T Merrial caught 16 fish. Drys, Fritz, Bloodworm have all done well. Here are the averages for the week.
