Fishing report week ending 14th October, 2007
Hello everyone,
Gosh its hard to believe that in a few weeks Philip and I will be handing the reins over to the Harnick family. It looks like everything is going smoothly with the legal beagles and that the end of October is still the date everyone has in mind. Philip and I are just finishing off a few jobs that we want to do before say our official good byes. I have had quite a few emails wishing Philip and I well in our retirement and thanking us for making the venue such a special place. Thank you for that - it does mean a lot to us. Lisa and Ryan are busy packing up their belongings are are on the brink of finding somewhere else to live. We understand this is a difficult time for Lisa and Ryan, as it is for all the staff who have worked so hard at Pendle View. I spoke to Dawn in the week and she is busy sending off job applications. If any of you chaps out there know of any suitable vacancies please let me know and I will pass them onto our staff. Here is the fishing report.
Main Lake (Carp)
It is still fishing hard for carp, but the following have been brought to the bank. 23lb common 14lb common, 13lb 8oz ghostie, 28lb common, 16lb common, 6lb mirror, 11lb 8oz common, 28lb common and a 19lb common. Pegs 71/72 seem to have fished the best. Mark (one of our regulars managed to land three carp).
Main Lake (Pleasure)
Thank you to Danny and Joe who fished this lake on Tuesday and had a cracking day. They both said they had a good session and landed 20lb, and 23lb bags. Brian Parker did well in the week and caught a nice bag of silvers weighing in at approximately 30lb. Another angler caught 100 fish on the main lake (sadly we cannot read his name it looks like Mr.I. Webb. Brian Parker said that in his 30lb bag he had a nice 2lb 8oz perch and a 3lb perch. Other anglers have caught an average of 7 - 15lb bags this week.
Doughnut Lake (Pleasure)
We have had one or two overnight anglers on the lake this week and a few have said they have caught some nice carp averaging between 6-10lb in weight. According to the emails I have received this week - fishing has been hard up on this lake with most anglers just getting small bags of 7lb to 12lb.
Fly Lake
Quite a few anglers have had some good sessions up on the fly lake this week. Here are a few. D. Bramley 9 fish 4 hours session. I. Walsh 9 fish on 2 hour session. A. Tayor 12 fish on a 3 hour session. A. Brindle 8 fish on a 3 hour session. Cats Whisker, Buzzers, Donkers (yellow and white) have all worked well. Here are the averages.

Tuesday 1.0
Wednesday 4.4

Friday 6.6
Saturday 2.6
Well folks thats all for now. Just one last thing I have had several emails asking if the Harnicks will be doing fishing reports. The answer is yes. I am sure they will be great because the fishing reports will be written by people who actually understand the fishing world. I am so looking forward to Philip and I coming back to see what wonderful things the Harnicks have done with the place. They are really keen fishermen. In a week or so I am sure Dave Harnick (Senior) will be putting something together letting you all know what wonderful plans he has for the place. Well folks thats all for now - have a great week and look forward to seeing you on the banks.
best wishes
