Fishing report week ending 28th October, 2007
Hello everyone,
Still not bad weather for October, and it was nice to see that bit of rain. I think it will really improve the fishing. Here is the fishing report.
Main Lake (Carp)
Its been a really hard week fishing wise. I have been speaking to a few fishery owners up and down the country and they are all saying the same. Carp have been showing to pleasure anglers this week and the most successful baits have been mussel, and worm. Things got a bit better by the weekend and the lake has started to produce again. The biggest fish of the week goes to Bryan Molloy who caught a 35lb common and a 12lbh mirror. The following fish were also recorded. 28lb 8oz common, 12lb common, 10lb common, 4lb mirror, 15lb mirror, 12lb mirror, 13lb 8oz linear and a 4lb ghostie.
Main Lake (Pleasure)
Bags have been really low this week. I expect to see things improve now that we have had a bit of rain. The biggest bag of the week goes to Tom Rushton of Wigan who emailed me saying he had a cracking day during the week and landed a 22lb bag of nice silvers. Other bags recorded have not been much to write home about and average 10-15lb. Roach and perch have come out to caster and worm.
Doughnut Lake (Pleasure)
The angler who fished peg 121 the other day did well. Sadly I cannot read his name on the fishing return but he has entered an 80lb bag. He used pole and fished with maggot and caster. His catch was made up of carp, bream and roach. Other bags have been disappointing and average 7lb - 15lb.
Fly Lake
Another good week on the old fly lake. R. Lewis caught 18 fish on a 3 hour ticket using bloodworm and buzzers. G. Andrews from Burnley caught 8 fish on a 3 hour ticket, whislt C. Holland from Bury caught 6 trout on a 2 hour ticket. Buzzer, montanna and bloodworm have all worked well this week.
The averages are as follows:
Monday 4.8
Tuesday 1.4
Wednesday 1.7
Thursday 3.3
Friday 3.9
Saturday 2.5
Sunday 2.8
GENERAL
I keep getting emails asking if the sale is still going ahead and when it will happen. We understand from both solicitors that we will be told a completion date sometime next week. I think realistically it going to be early November. At the moment we are busy giving the Harnick family as much information as we can as to how we have ran the business. The 1st November is a very big day for us. We are due to have our ten year dam inspection. We do have one each year to ensure that everything is okay. This is a really big inspection and will take most the day. We have been doing lots of work over the last few weeks to ensure we pass muster.
Well folks thats all for now.
best wishes
Lin and Pendle
