Pegs 89, and 24 have been particularly good hot spots and an assortment of boilies have worked well.
Main Lake (Pleasure)
Fishing has been a little slow on the main lake this week with a quite a few anglers struggling for big bags. Bags seem to have ranged from 12lb to 35lb. Lots of bream have shown and maggot on feeder have been the most successful. Darren Culshaw from Wigan sent me a nice email saying he had a great days fishing on Wednesday. He said he caught some beautiful bream and they were in excellent condition.
Doughnut Lake
Again like the main lake fishing has been a little slow this week. Having said that quite a few of our anglers now fish this lake overnight and have said how well it has fished. Pegs 101, 109, 102, and 119 have fished quite well with some good bags recorded. Mike Halsall of Blackpool fished overnight with some friends. According to the email Mike sent me on Friday the Doughnut Lake the fish really feed during the night. All the lads had a great session and caught some lovely silvers using pole and corn and maggot.
Fly Lake
Fishing has been good this week with quite a few anglers catching well. Harry Craith of Poulton caught 10 fish using hoppers. David Travitt of Bacup caught 14 fish using mixed dry flys. Flys that have worked well this week are dry fly just under the surface, buzzer, bloodworm, fritz, and hoppers. The lake has fished really well in the evenings this week. Here are the averages.
