Report ending 4th Feb 2007

Hello everyone. Here is the fishing report for the week.

Doughnut lake (pleasure).
Well the dounut lake is starting to suprise a few people. Mr livesey was fishing the long pole and loose feeding pinkies and caster with maggot as hook bait and ended his session with around 8lb of fish in his net - 45 fish in total - not a bad weight for the weather and frost we have had. Mr johnson had a better day with 18lb of fish - again just loose feeding caster with maggot or pinkie as hook bait. It looks like this lake is going to be a real winner this year.

Main lake (pleasure).
The main lake is still on form - even with the frost and cold snap people are still fishing and catching well. Bill holden has got the biggest bag for the week with a good 45lb of silvers and bream. Bill was fishing maggot feeder, casting 35 yards and tipping the hook with a single red maggot and catching throughout the day off the dam wall. Again other fisherman are feeder fishing and using the ground bait feeder to catch a good bag of silvers.

Fly lake.

This lake is still producing good catches for everybody, with cats whisker fritz´s and buzzers being the flys to use right now. Stripping the flys or a steady retrive brings the fish along for a good fight. The averages have been:

monday 7.5
tuesday 1.4
wednesday 4
thursday no fisherman
friday 6.2
saturday 4.0
sunday 5.1

Main lake (carp ).
How´s this? Mr eade was have a 24hrs session staying in the lodge and fished a mainline bottom bait. He ended his session with 4 fish. He caught a 22lb linear, a 22lb common and 2 mirrors around 5lbs. Her was using vde pellets with fusion boilies - not bad for a single day and night session. There have been other catches, but nothing above the teens.

Well folks that is all for now. I will try to get some more detail together before the next report.
