Fishing report week ending 27th January, 2008
Hello everyone,
Sorry there was no fishing report last week. I moved home and was without an email facility for over a week. I have now caught up with all the outstanding emails and queries from you all.
Well its been a busy old week at the fisheries. I have just spoken to Dave Harnick Junior and they have restocked the Doughnut Lake and netted the Trout Lake.
Dave says they have introduced over 200 carp into the Doughnut Lake. They have introduced a mix of commons and mirrors averaging 4" and 2lb in weight. They have also introduced a 1000 silvers - roach bream and chubb. 60 ghosties have also been introduced averaging 2lb - 8lb in weight. We have already had some anglers saying they have had some good bags out. (21lb to 35lb bags).
In the main lake we have had several anglers fish out some nice silvers. Bream is showing well. Sadly no carp have shown this week.
The trout lake netting went very well and although you cannot ever net the entire lake and count every fish Dave said he counted well over 400 trout. Dave said that there were quite a few decent sized fish averaging 8 - 9lb in weight.
Dave did not have the averages to report this week but said that most anglers were catching about 4 fish each. Bloodworm, Pink dog nobblers, and marabuu tails were all doing well.
Well I will be handing over the fishing reports to the Harnicks some time this week, so it may be the last time I will be emailing you. I understand that the Harnicks will have a new email address for you to send your queries to.
Well folks its been a pleasure sending you these reports. I am sure the reports will be more helpful when they are written by the new owners who understand about fishing.
best wishes to you all.
